I know others have already made this point but I'm re-reading the comic for a better understanding of Zeke's behavior and....

No, in this case Fae was being selfish. Last time he killed a cat was in self defense and she flipped out at him and called him a murderer. Now, less than a week later, literally the next day if I'm reading right, she's asking him to kill a cat.
Also there's... a courtesy rule: "Never ask someone to do something for you that you would not be willing to do yourself." Fae is the one who wants to put the cat out of her misery, Fae needs to at least be willing instead of immediately expecting Jasper to do it. Especially after flipping out at him for killing a cat once already.
